GRADE-WISE

Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)

Annual Day will be held on January 29th. This activity will help to emphasize all-round development of the students and efforts to inculcate values in building future citizens of the world. Dance Drama- Harmony will be included.

Grade 9 (Girls)

Thematic Assembly (Topaz House) will be conducted on January 23rd. The purpose of this assembly is to celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr- an influential American civil rights leader. It will also be an opportunity to teach students the importance of peaceful conflict resolutions.

Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)

Periodic Test 3 for grade 9 and Model Exam for grade 10 will continue till January 16th. This test / exam will help to provide a balanced and fair evaluation for each student by measuring learning progress & achievement. It will also help to evaluate the effectiveness of various educational programs.

Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)

HOD Session will be organised on January 29th. During this session, each Head of the Department will guide the students to work hard, set educational goals, take responsibility for their learning and motivate to give their best performance in the Board exams.

House Day (inter-house program) will be held on January 30th. This House system aims to give students identity and sense of pride. It is an integral and vibrant part of the school's culture. Throughout the year, houses compete in a number of sporting, academic and cultural events for points. On House Day the winning house receives the House Shield.

Grade 11 (Girls)

Economics Workshop will be held on January 21st. The objective of this workshop for students is to encourage dialogue, receive fresh perspective, develop new ideas and improve their skills in the subject.

Assessment of Speaking & Listening (ASL – 2) will be conducted on January 28th. Students speaking and listening skills will be tested and assessed. It is a part of their academics and terminal examinations.

Entrepreneurship Exhibition will be held on January 29th. This program will be an opportunity for students to exhibit what they have learned through handmade samples, by demonstrating to what degree they have achieved expected learning standards or learning objectives of their third term project “know thy state handicraft”.

Unit Test will be conducted on January 29th. This test will help students to evaluate their progress towards the end of their academic year.

Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)

Fortnight Delite will be organised in the last week of this month. This program aim to introduce the concept of a nutritious meal and good taste in students’ life. It will also be an opportunity to provide them inter-disciplinary learning opportunities.

Grade 11 (Boys)

Annual Practical Examination will continue till January 17th.

Grade 12 (Boys)

Model Practical Examination will be conducted from January 17th to 28th.

Grade 12

Second Model Examination will continue till January 20th. This exam aim to assess the concepts learned of students through the entire year and to equip them to face the upcoming board exam confidently.

SUBJECT - WISE

Summarization of Stories (Arabic) competition will be conducted on January 22nd for grade 9 and on January 30th for 7 & 8. The purpose of this competition is to enable students to learn new vocabularies and improve in their Arabic written ability.

PROGRAM - WISE

Republic Day of India will be celebrated on January 26th. This day aim to inspire the patriotic spirit among students. It will also be an opportunity to promote the rich cultural diversity of the country – India.

CAREER CENTRE

Film Production Workshop will be held on January 15th for grade 11. The objective of this workshop is to give opportunity to students to explore their talents and interest in the field of film production.

A Special Presentation of Mc Master University (Canada) will be conducted on January 16th for grade 11 & 12. During this presentation, students will be oriented about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.

A Workshop titled ‘Be an Engineer for a Day’ (Taster Session) will be held on January 19th for grade 11 Science with Maths. Through this workshop, students will get interesting taster session / workshop where they can explore what it feels like to be an engineer. Live demonstrations, design tasks and laboratory facilities tour will be included.

Future Doctors Roadshow 2019 by Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) Bahrain will be conducted on January 26th for grade 11 Science with Biology. Students will be engaged in interactive workshops with clinical practitioners and RCSI alumni. It aims to provide insights into the life of a medical student and life as a doctor by participating into workshops of basic medical sciences, clinical skills & communications.

Olympiad of Mathematics will be conducted on January 30th for grade 11 selected students. This competition will be an opportunity for students to demonstrate their knowledge in various fields of Maths.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

A Student Talk on the topic ‘College Readiness’ will be held on January 19th for grade 11 girls. Through this talk, students will understand how to get started for college search and admissions.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Effective Communication’ will be held on January 20th for grade 6 girls. The purpose of this talk for students is to help them identify effective ways to communicate better.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Adding Value to your Profile’ will be conducted on January 22nd for grade 9. This talk will help students to be aware of the importance of adding value to their profile.

A Student Talk on the topic ‘Self Awareness & Managing your Emotions’ will be conducted on January 28th for grade 8 girls. This talk will help students to be aware of changing emotions and how to deal with them.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

CPD Program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” will be conducted from January 16th till 31st (tentative) for teachers respectively. This program will help teachers to understand all collaborative tools needed. It will also help to determine their level and effectiveness in using the interactive white boards.

A Workshop will be held for senior secondary school teachers on January 18th in the subject of Accountancy. This workshop will help teachers to improve their ‘Question Paper Setting’ skills. They will also be trained in handling ‘HOTS’ questions pertaining to analysis, synthesis and evaluation.
