Indian High School comes with a history of over 50 years, which will be difficult to encapsulate in a few words. Since its inception in 1961, the school has been the leading educational institution in the Gulf Region.
IHS is run by a Board of Trustees and seeks to provide affordable and value education to all its students. The institution has been accredited 'outstanding' by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Government of Dubai.
IHS is also permanently affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. As per CBSE guidelines and their syllabus, we continuously guide students and enhance their learning ability and performance.
We've come a long way since, 1977, when our first set of 10th Grade students appeared for the All India Secondary School Examination. Also, it was in the year 1979 that the first batch of 12th Grade students, from Science, Arts and Commerce appeared for the All India Senior School Certificate Examination, aligning with the with the CBSE standards.
IHS branched out to two more campuses apart from the Za'abeel East branch: The IHS Junior School in Al Gharoud and the Indian International School in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The Junior School at Al Garhoud runs classes up to the 4th Grade (Pre-Primary classes for Girls and Boys). The Senior School, in Za'abeel East, runs classes from Grades 5 to 12 (Boys and Girls). However, the timings for girls and boys have morning and afternoon shift respectively. For the ease of students, staff and parents, the school has a fleet of 100 air-conditioned buses.
Among many state of the art facilities of the School, we feel proud to talk about our Aryabhatta Library and centre for Research. besides that we have four Computer Laboratories, three well-equipped Science Laboratories and a Home Science Laboratory in the Main School. Counselling services are offered to the students by well qualified Counsellors at the three Counselling Centres. The School has full time Medical Officers and Nurses for the help of students.
The state-of-the-art Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, inaugurated on the 15th January, 1994 is not just humongous in its appeal but even in capacity, having a seating capacity of 1800.
The Indian High School holds the prestigious tag of being one of the leading institutions in the Gulf. It has always been the first choice for expatriate Indians to get their wards admitted to IHS, Dubai.
