Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)
Term 2 Exam was conducted from February 25th onwards. This exam helped students understand their level of attainment. It gives them an insight of their understanding of concepts before taking up the next level in schooling.
Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)
Art Work competition with the theme titled ‘I Love You Mom and Dad’ was held on February 14th. This competition was an opportunity for students to express their love and affection, giving wings to their creativity.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Annual Day was held on February 5th. This creative endeavor that showcased pursuits ranging from live art competitions to a contemporary pageant titled ‘Kal-Aaj aur Kal’ carried an important message to the audience. They were mesmerized with ethnic drumming, yoga & mindfulness and singing & visual harvesting. Exhibition of canvas paintings was also included. It was an opportunity for students to bring out their creativity and develop a sense of cooperation & coordination.
Grade 9 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled Valentine’s Day Special was conducted on February 11th. Students depicted the importance behind the Valentine’s Day Celebrations through various programs such as dance drama, song and speech. It helped them trace back the real history of the Valentine’s Day and its implications.
Grade 10 (Girls)
Board Exam Orientation was held on February 25th. During this orientation, the Principal, the Supervisor, the Examination in-charge & the Heads of the various departments addressed the students on common areas of concern and shared general/subject-specific tips & guidelines. Students received general and subject-wise guidelines regarding how to face the approaching board exams.
Convocation Ceremony for the batch 2017 - 2018 was celebrated on February 18th. The ceremony progressed with the motivating keynote speech by the Chief Guest, H. E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Cabinet Member, Minister of Tolerance, UAE. A total of 305 Girls and 255 Boys of the 12th grade received their graduating certificates from His Excellency. It was a moment of pride for the parents, teachers and friends of the passing out students. The event concluded with the solemn candle light ceremony followed by dinner.
Teenovators Scholarship Test was conducted on February 2nd for grade 12 Science at Manipal Academy of Higher Education Dubai campus. The objective of this test was to identify talented students and Manipal Academy of Higher Education Dubai will reward them by offering merit based scholarship. It was also an opportunity for them to get an exposure on how a college entrance test is conducted and based on their scores they will be granted scholarship by the Manipal.
Preparation for Application Workshops on SAT Preparation was held on February 3rd & 10th for grade 11 at American University in Dubai (AUD) campus. This workshop was an opportunity for students to be prepared for university application process and requirements. They gained insights on how to be prepared for SAT by knowing its coverage and level of difficulty, so that they could be more confident in taking the actual test.
A College Visit to American University in Dubai (AUD) was organised on February 8th for grade 11. This visit was intended for students to get knowledge about the university’s programs offer and admission process. They also have a tour on their laboratory facilities and experience the campus life in AUD. They got a chance to experience campus life at AUD and became aware of its programs offered and admission requirements.
Student Talk on the topic ‘Adding Value to your Profile’ was held on February 6th for grade 9 girls. Through this talk, students were made aware of importance of adding value to their profile.
Student Talks on the topics ‘Effective Communication’ and ‘Self –Awareness & Managing your Emotions’ were held on February 11th & 12th for grade 6 and grade 8 girls respectively. These talks helped grade 6 students to understand the importance of communicating effectively and made grade 8 girls aware of changing emotions & strategy to manage them.
A Talk titled ‘The Power of Music on the Brain’ was conducted on February 13th for grades 8, 9, 11 & 12 girls’ students and teachers. This talk aimed to explicate the impact of music to our brains.
A Workshop for Middle School Teachers in the subject of Hindi was held on February 16th. Through this workshop, teachers learnt how to improve grammar skills, how to improve poem comprehension, how to improve prose lesson and question paper making.
A Workshop for Middle School Teachers in the subject of Art & Craft was held on February 16th. This workshop dealt with water color painting, techniques of fabric & acrylic painting, Madhubani painting, sculpture, best out of waste, expressive lettering, still life, portrait – drawing & coloring techniques, easy doddles and painting with tools.
CPD program on E-Learning – “Destination Success” and “Use of Interactive White Boards” were organised from February 7th till 19th respectively. These trainings helped our teachers to understand the collaborative tool needed. They were trained in the effective use of the eLearning modules along with the eLearning equipment that is made available in the classroom. It also helped us to determine the level and effectiveness of some of our teachers in using ‘Interactive White Boards’.
