Grade 5 & 6 (Girls)
Hand Washing Day was held on October 15th. This day helped in increasing awareness & understanding of students about the importance of hand washing with soap as an effective & affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. It helped to increase awareness about personal hygiene.
Thematic Assembly on ‘Gandhi Jayanti’ was conducted on October 20th. During this assembly, students commemorated Mahatma Gandhiji‘s 150th birth anniversary by creating awareness of his philosophy of Ahimsa and Satyagraha. They conveyed the ideas of Ahimsa and Satyagraha through dances & songs exhibiting their artistic and creative skills.
Reading Literacy was organised on October 20th. The objective of this activity for students was to develop their ability to skim for main ideas, scan for details, reading speed & use graphic organizers to better understand a text and to build academic vocabulary. It also enabled them to read confidently & fluently and engage, reflect & extract relevant information from the written text.
Grade 5 & 6 (Boys)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Tolerance’ was held on October 6th. The objective of this assembly was to inculcate the culture of Tolerance among students. Talk on “What does it mean to have Tolerance”, skit on “Importance of Tolerance in kids” and in-class group activity were included.
Grade 7 & 8 (Girls)
Creative Writing and Poetry (Inter-class) competition was conducted on October 31st. Through this competition, students were able to produce their own piece of work when they were asked to choose a topic either in English or Hindi in creative writing and poetry respectively.
Grade 7 & 8 (Boys)
Special Assembly titled ‘Non Violence’ was held on October 7th. Students displayed their thoughts through a skit followed by a pledge taking ceremony, which they all stand together towards Non Violence. It aimed at creating awareness about the value of the topic.
Quiz Competition was conducted on October 15th. The objective of this house-wise competition was to challenge the participants on different areas and to expand their knowledge & understanding about facts, information and current events.
Picnic planned on October 31st was cancelled due to transportation issues.
Grade 9 (Girls)
Hindi Calligraphy competition was conducted on October 17th. This competition helped students to develop good handwriting skills.
Grade 9 & 10 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ was held on October 2nd. During this assembly, students from Ruby House paid tribute to the leader Mahatma Gandhi.
Knowledge Fiesta was conducted on October 13th. Students’ demonstrated awareness of the globe, presented scientific & mathematical skills and applied their innovation skills. The globe at a glance, working models exhibition and the math maze were included.
French Assembly was held on October 16th. This assembly aimed at demonstrating effective communication skills of students in French language.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Diwali, the Festival of Lights’ was held on October 30th. This assembly created awareness among students on the sanctity and ideals of Diwali which is celebrated all over India.
Inter-House Competitions were conducted on October 30th for Grade 9 ‘Henna Designing’ and for Grade 10 ‘Rangoli Making’. These competitions aimed at strengthening aesthetic and artistic skills of the students.
Grade 10 (Girls)
Poetry Writing (Hindi / French) competition was conducted on October 17th. The purpose of this competition for students was to develop their creative expressions in the language.
Grade 9 & 10 (Boys)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ was conducted on October 2nd. The objective of this assembly was to promote the ideals of peace, tolerance, non-violence among students and involve them in peaceful behavior in the midst of conflicts. They performed a skit and presented the ideological similarities of Sheikh Zayed and Mahatma Gandhi.
Talents Day was held on October 9th. Through this day, students showcased their ability to perform with versatility in dancing, singing and art display. It also helped to boost their confidence and self- determination.
Thematic Assembly was conducted on October 9th. During this assembly, students from grade 10 division ‘Q’ presented the spirit of ‘Service Before Self’. They showcased the need to do service to others above our own self interests. This core value was reminded with the help of speech and video.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change’ was conducted on October 23rd. Students presented a speech and a video depicting ‘progress is impossible without change’. It made them understand that ‘Once you change, you will notice other people attitudes towards you and around you change. People will not change unless you do’.
Science Exhibition was organised on October 30th. This activity was an opportunity to our young scientists to put up a wonderful display of their scientific skills through working models, still models, charts and more. It also improved their skills of innovation and scientific thinking.

Grade 11 & 12 (Girls)
Fortnight Delite was organised on October 2nd & 9th. The purpose for students was to highlight the importance of healthy eating.
Competitions of House Day (offstage) were conducted on October 14th for ‘on the spot Painting & Make Up Stand Off’ and on October 30th for ‘Master Chef Cooking & DIY Crafts Making’. Through painting competition, great artists in the section got an opportunity to portray their creativity on the spot with the theme titled 'Tolerance'. The theme for cooking was ‘Gourmet- on a fixed budget’ and DIY crafts making theme title was 'to the future'.
Unit Test was concluded on October 20th for grade 11 and Mid Term Exams scheduled in the month of October were completed for grade 12.
Project Making Competition was conducted on October 8th & 9th for grade 11 & 12 boys/girls respectively. This competition was an opportunity for students to do research of the given topic and make a project using best possible materials. Three prizes were awarded to the best three performers.
72 students and 5 President Executive members from grades 8 to 12 (32 students as school delegates and 40 students as individual delegates) participated in the AUD MUN Conferences (American University Model United Nations) from October 31st onwards. All of them have shown their excellent research and oratory skills in different UN communities. 15 students received awards for their outstanding performance. It was an interactive educational experience for them that teach in an interesting and enjoyable way about the United Nations. It also helped them understand the process of international debate and negotiation that we commonly call diplomacy functions.
A Special Presentation of University of British Columbia (Canada) was held on October 1st for grade 12. Through this presentation, students were oriented about the university’s programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
Special Presentations of USA Universities: Tufts University, Tulane University and Savannah College of Arts & Design were held on October 2nd for grade 12. Students were oriented about the university’s programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
A Special Presentation of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (USA) was held on October 6th for grade 11 & 12 Science with Biology. The purpose was to give orientation to students about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
Special Presentations of Indiana University-Purdue University Indiana (USA), University of Wisconsin Eau Claire (USA), University of California Los Angeles (USA) and USA Universities - Indiana University, Rutgers University, Iowa University & Colorado University were held on October 6th, 7th & 10th respectively for grade 12. These presentations was an opportunity for students to know the university’s programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
USA Universities Fair was conducted on October 15th for grade 11 & 12. Through this fair, students met university admission officers and were informed about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure & deadline of application.
Special Presentations of Loyola Marymount University (USA) and Santa Clara University (USA) planned on October 17th & 30th for grade 12 were cancelled. Students were not interested.
Hong Kong Polytechnic University & Canadian Universities Fair was conducted on October 29th for grade 11 & 12. The objective for students was to meet university admission officers and get first- hand information about their programs offer, admission requirements, application process, fee structure and deadline of application.
Personality Assessment was concluded On October 16th for grade 9. This online assessment aimed at creating self-awareness and giving holistic picture of student’s dominant characteristics & traits. It will help them in making the right career choice.
Aptitude Assessment was concluded on October 31st for grade 10. This online assessment aimed in helping students in making right subject and stream choice.
Lumielabs Launch Event was conducted on October 7th at Dusit Thani Hotel, Dubai for selected leaders of Counselling and Career Services. During this event, importance of video within classroom and how video can be influenced in your classrooms to engage learners were discussed. Digital story telling tool that will benefit the classroom was also included.
CPD Program on E-Learning- “Use of Interactive White Boards” was held on October 29th & 30th. This training helped to determine the level and effectiveness of teachers in using the interactive white boards.
