The Indian High School Hosts - Indian Naval Band

May 9, 2016

It was indeed an occasion of great pride and privilege that the Indian High School, in conjunction with the Consulate General of India, hosted the Indian Naval Band on May 8, 2016. Consul General, HE Anurag Bhushan, IHS Chairman, Mr. Sunil Singh, members of the Consulate, Special invitees, Principals, staff and students from different schools in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and staff and students of the Indian High School enjoyed an evening of musical extravaganza by the Indian Naval Band from INS Tarkash.

There are very few things in life that can bond us together; one of them being the love for our nation, our motherland India. The very mention of ‘Armed forces’ brings to fore a range of emotions and pride, and creates a vision of uniformed men striving to keep us secure in our homes. It is to these brave men and women that we owe our freedom and safety. It is because of their sacrifices that we live the kind of lives that we do. They are truly an inspiration to us.

The evening commenced with HE Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India and Mr. Sunil Singh, Chairman, IHS, welcoming the gathering. ‘Saare Jahaan Se Accha’ from the Brass Band of IHS set the mood for the program. This was followed by a medley of soulful and foot tapping numbers from the Indian Naval Band. A memento was handed over to the hosts by the Commander of INS Tarkash. The event concluded with live music and dance performances by the students and the School Brass Band and a gala dinner with the special invitees.
